Did you know you can work from home as a customer service agent for a call center? There are many companies that hire individuals interested in working from home, as long as you possess the skills required and have the proper technical equipment needed to do the job.

1-800-Flowers has such a program and they are currently hiring “Full Time Temporary positions” for the upcoming Mother’s Day Holiday. Typical part time work with 1-800-Flowers can average 6-10 hours per week, but “Gold Rush Periods” (i.e. Mother’s Day) will include the need to work 25-40 hours per week immediately before, during, and after the holiday.

If this sounds appealing to you, be aware you would need to have a quiet place to work, a proper computer setup, and dedicated phone line. The application process is part application, part job interview. You can expect to spend an hour or two at the computer answering questions about your background, work history, and personality tendencies, followed by an interactive call center demonstration. If all goes well with the tests, you will receive an opportunity to schedule a follow up telephone interview.
